Ryoshi live
— About —
— Who We Are —

Formed in 2018, Ryoshi was born from a shared ambition: to create music without compromise and leave a lasting artistic mark beyond the boundaries of Mauritius.

Rooted in progressive metalcore, the band blends crushing riffs, atmospheric textures, technical precision and raw emotion into a sound that is both aggressive and deeply expressive. For Ryoshi, music is more than performance, it is a constant search for evolution, creativity and identity.

The name Ryoshi carries a dual meaning. In Japanese, ryoshi traditionally means fisherman. Yet the band also embraces another interpretation: ryo as excel and shi as master — a philosophy of striving for excellence while mastering one's craft through dedication and creation.

From local underground venues to regional festivals, Ryoshi's guiding principle has remained unchanged: push creativity further and leave a permanent trace on the Mauritian, regional and international music scene.
